About Harmoniker
Harmoniker is an online, social network that allows people with multiple common interests to become friends. We allow users to specify, in detail, the things in life that define them and we use this information to find other, matching users.

What we collect
We may collect the following information:
Data Description Public/Private
Moniker (user name):   This is your public name and will be seen by all other users.
Public
Password This is your private password and you should keep this secure. If you lose your password we will issue you with a new one which you should then change as soon as possible. Private
Email Address This address will be used by us to communicate with you and should be your primary email address. This information is not publicly visible. Please ensure that your email address is correct and up to date at all times Private
First/Last Name
Private
Date Of Birth This information is used to determine your age. Some of the categories in Harmoniker are age-restricted and when you sign up for an account you must confirm your date of birth (and hence your age) to provide access to these categories Private
Street Address
Town
County
City
State
Country
This information will be used to determine you geographic location in order to provide you with better localised services. Private
Category Information As part of the Harmoniker process, you may enter details of your personal interests, hobbies, career, etc. This information is processed internally to provide a “score” which allows us to match you with other similar users. Currently, the specific details of your actual categories (i.e. category names and ratings) are NOT visible to other users. In the future we may provide a facility that allows you to “opt-in” and allow others to see the categories and/or ratings you have chosen. If you do not choose to “opt-in”, your chosen categories and ratings will remain private.
Note that due to the nature of the scoring process (i.e. your score approaches 100 as you match another user’s categories more closely) it would be possible (but very unlikely and difficult) for someone to discover your categories by trial and error i.e. by changing their own categories and ratings to increase the match score to 100. We believe this is an unlikely situation and even if it were attempted would provide little benefit to the offending party.
Private
Social Networking sites You can enter information about other social networking sites that you use. You may also (optionally) enter the account name/id that identifies you on these 3rd party sites. You can choose to make this information private, public or visible only to users you have marked as "friends". Public
Advertising Policy Your categories and location may be used to serve advertising messages while you are viewing the site. Your personal details are never provided to advertisers or to any 3rd party, for any reason. Advertisers receive aggregated reports containing numeric data related to the performance of their messages, but these reports contain no personally identifying information about our users. Private

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
  • Internal record keeping.
